A little paint and laughter creates a home

It’s official, ABC CVC Young
Professionals, participated in their first Habitat for Humanity of Franklin
County project on September 25th, 2015. What could be more rewarding
than donating time and skills into a project which falls within the realm of
our Industry?  Anyone can write a check
or make a phone call for donations, but to sacrifice time, life’s most valuable
resource, now that’s the best way to make the biggest impact.

CVC YPGer’s were honored when John Helman, Project
Manager, gave us the green light to participate on the Chambersburg
Pennsylvania project. It was a full day of putty, painting, hammering, laughing,
joking and pranking. Despite all the fun…at the end of the day Mr. Helman shut
the door on a couple of bedrooms deeming them officially punched out! The
mentorship and direction by John was not only generous, but much appreciated.
We were able to capture the following statement by John Helman.

“You and yourgroup were great to work with. Everyone came eager to work, Took direction well, were productive, and had a good time together. I hope everyone else had
as much fun as I did. You all made my day enjoyable and it was nice to cross
all the work you completed off my list.”           - John Helman

It was a long day, but it sure didn’t feel so surrounded by good friends and food. Lunch certainly was a treat provided by Barb Runyon/Brechbill & Helman Construction. After a
brief reflection of our day, we all would agree we invested our day wisely.
Especially, knowing a family will soon feel the care and love put into that
house by every volunteer who aided in its completion.

ABC CVC Young Professionals would like
to thank Brad Reynolds, of Triad Engineering, for passing along a few skills
and your support is more appreciated than you may ever know. We would also like
to thank the following Young Professionals and their Companies for donating
their time: Tim Campbell – Callas Contractors; Brooke Wenger - Triad
Engineering; Rod Irish – Express Employment Professionals; Patrick Rock - GRC
General Contractor; William Griffith jr – Tri-County Pumps; Emily Beecher -
Baxter Group Inc.; Mark Irish; and Dawn Marcoux - Innovative, Inc.

It’s time to make your time count!
