Excellence in Construction - Safety Award Banquet

 The Cumberland Valley Chapter Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc.
(ABC) recently recognized ABC members and their top Excellence in Construction
projects at Fountainhead Country Club in Hagerstown, MD.  We also recognized one of our newest ABC CVC member Hoffman Automotive.

ABC is proud to honor these innovative merit shop construction projects and industry-leading firms with our Excellence in Construction award.  These award winners are outstanding examples of the astounding craftsmanship and professionalism that exemplify merit shop construction.  The Excellence in Construction awards program is the industry’s leading competition, developed to honor innovative and high-quality merit shop construction projects and safety program. The award honors all construction team members, including the contractor, owner, architect and engineer. 
Local winners will now have the opportunity to apply at the National Level.

Awards were presented to the following 1st place winners in The Excellence in
Construction Awards: Category A-1 Commercial Construction under 5 million
dollars, Waynesboro Construction for their project on Heritage
Training & Shooting Center; Category A-3 Commercial Construction 10-25
million dollars, Warner Construction for their project on Liberty
Mountain Resort & Conference Center Phase II; Category B-1 Healthcare
under 10 million, Warner Construction for their project Progressive Radiology @ Trilogy II; Category B-2 Healthcare 10 – 25 million,,Morgan Keller Construction for their
project Genesis Frederick Skilled Nursing Facility; Category F-1 Institutional under 5 million, Brechbill & Helman Construction Company, Inc. for their project Sri
Bhaktha Anjaneya Temple; Category F-3 Institutional 10-25 million, Morgan Keller Construction for their project HCC Student Center Expansion, Hagerstown, MD and Category S Residential Morgan Keller Construction for their project Residences at Prospect Hall.

ABC CVC would also like to recognize the second place merit award winners: Category A-1 commercial construction under 5 million, The Eagle Construction Company for their project Addition and Renovation to the Humane Society of Washington County and Category F-1 Institutional under 5 million, Callas Contractors Inc. for their project Washington County Senior Center.

National Safety Awards were presented to Cumberland Valley Chapter contractors. 
These Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) awards recognizes the efforts of ABC members that strive to achieve effective safety practices at their firms and provide contractors with a tool to objectively evaluate their safety programs, policies, procedures and training.  The Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP) program was developed and written by contractors, for contractors.  The following certificates were presented: Platinum level, Baxter Group Inc. and GRC General Contractor, Inc.; Gold level, Stouffer Mechanical Contractor, LLC; Silver level, Brechbill & Helman Construction Co. Inc; Callas Contractors, Inc.; C. William Hetzer, Inc.; Ellsworth Electric, Inc.; Morgan Keller Inc.; RW Warner Inc.; Waynesboro Construction Company and the Bronze level, MS Johnston Co. Inc.

Also presented was Safety Professional of the year; this
award recognize one deserving individual for what they have accomplished within
the safety & health field within their company; their professional
contributions within the industry and participation in ABC’s Safety &
Health Activities & Programs.  We would like to congratulate Tiffany Weathersby, Baxter Group, Inc.

 Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a national
